Alyssa Gauthier Fund for Research

Alyssa Gauthier

Alyssa Gauthier was only 2-years old when she was diagnosed with anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. She was admitted on June 24, 2016 and remained there until a few days before Christmas 2016. The life of Alyssa and her family was transformed from one day to the next, without warning. As the family helplessly witnessed the decline of their toddler to the point of being on life-support, they quickly recognized that there was an urgent need for more research. A fundraiser was organized by a relative with the purpose of raising funds for The Anti-NMDA Receptor Encephalitis Foundation, Inc, with funds being specifically earmarked for research. The creation of the Alyssa Gauthier Fund for Research is a direct result of one family’s hellish journey and the vision for a better future for all that are diagnosed with anti-NMDA receptor Encephalitis.

The Foundation will make it a priority to grow this fund with your generous contributions. Research is the only way forward! Please give generously and indicate Alyssa Gauthier Fund on your payment.
