Can you Help?

Dear Supporter,
This coming Tuesday, December 1st, is Giving Tuesday. Like so many charities and non-profits, we are taking the opportunity to ask you to support our work. Thank you for your unwavering support and generous contributions over the past 7 years which have enabled us to grow our community of caregivers, survivors, physicians and other healthcare providers, in a variety of ways, and to fund our awards program that is now going into its 3rd year. We are especially proud of the awards that your donations have made possible. These prizes are awarded in collaboration with the Canadian Neurological Society, at the annual Congress of the Canadian Neurological Sciences Federation. The prizes are a way to encourage and empower new and young researchers with an interest and passion in autoimmune neurology and neuro-immunology, and they’re working!
One of the winners of our Anti-NMDA Receptor Encephalitis Foundation prize has been instrumental in bringing Comprehensive Autoimmune Encephalitis Panel testing to Canada, as well as setting up a new, dedicated autoimmune encephalitis clinic. Another winner has been involved in setting up a Canadian registry of autoimmune encephalitis cases. These are objectives that we had hoped to achieve when we first created this Foundation and they are now, one by one, being realized, thanks to your support.
We look forward to implementing another prize to enable a Canadian Community member (like you) to attend the newly formed World Encephalitis Day Conference. This conference will take place annually on 22 February, in a different place around the world, to celebrate World Encephalitis Day. Due to COVID-19, the 2021 conference will be held virtually making attendance possible from wherever you are (stay tuned for more information).
We could not be happier with these developments, but there is so much more to do!
Please help if you can. All contributions, big or small, are welcome.
