Encephalitis Global’s 2019 FACES to be held in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Posted on January 21, 2019
I am delighted to announce that the 2019 FACES Encephalitis Conference will be held from April 26-28, 2019 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada – home of the Foundation.
FACES is an annual conference for encephalitis survivors, caregivers and their friends held in a different North American City every year, hosted by Encephalitis Global, an American 501 charity.
What does FACES stand for? Friends and Caregivers Encephalitis Survivors
This 3-day conference brings together Encephalitis survivors and caregivers in a laid-back atmosphere. “The mood of a FACES conference is one of camaraderie and friendship in a stress-free zone.” It’s a chance to meet and learn from others FACE to FACE, listen to medical professionals and other experts and participate in workshops.
Last year I attended my first FACES conference near Seattle, as a caregiver and as a presenter on autoimmune encephalitis. I came back feeling accomplished at having presented in front of such a large group (most FACES conferences have an attendance of anywhere from 50-75 attendees) and enriched by the new friends and connections I made there.
For those living outside of North America, what better chance to come and visit Canada’s capital, Ottawa.
